Montgomery Academy completed the 2016 season with a 7-4 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 3A region three, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. Montgomery Academy's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Oakman by a score of 21-0. Since 2010, Montgomery Academy has gone a combined 46-32. Also returning is Trey Lindsey at quarterback. He completed 34 of 86 passes for 597 yards and nine touchdowns. The Eagles open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent Elmore County on Friday, August 25 at McLemore Field. Last year the Elmore County Panthers finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in sixth place in Class 4A region three. Montgomery Academy and Elmore County have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 3-1-0 record against the Panthers. They last met in 2016 with Elmore County winning by a score of 35-28. Montgomery Academy returns 3A All-State Senior running back Keefe White.
